SHIFA 3rd Round Distribution Progress Update
The 3rd Round of the SHIFA distribution commenced on 11 August 2026 and is currently ongoing. The distribution has been progressing smoothly and according to the planned schedule.
As part of the assistance package, each household received AFN 2,900 in cash assistance to help meet their immediate food needs.
In parallel with the cash distribution, Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) sessions were conducted for nearly all beneficiaries. These sessions focused on promoting key nutrition, health, hygiene, and infant and young child feeding practices to improve the well-being of vulnerable households.
In addition, Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme (BSFP) commodities were distributed to eligible beneficiaries. Wheat Soya Blend (WSB) was provided to all pregnant women, while Lipid-based Nutrient Supplement (LNS) was distributed to children aged 6–23 months, in line with the programme's nutrition objectives to prevent malnutrition among women and young children.
Overall, the 3rd Round distribution is progressing well, with strong beneficiary participation, effective coordination among the field teams, and no major operational or security issues reported to date.
